Minsk shogi club is pleased to invite you to the open XIV Minsk Shogi Cup, that is being held on 17th and 18th December (Sat-Sun) in Minsk. Last year 117 players participated in the competition (http://shogi.by/tournaments/126/). The event consists of two competitions: the main (all players are welcome) and junior (under 12) tournaments. Tournaments will be run on the mix of knock-out (with the final match) and McMahon system (see details below).
Venue: Chess school #11, ul. Rakovskaya 24.
Registration fee: 20 BYR ~ 10 EUR.
Tournaments detailsThe winner will be will be determined in the knock-out tournament with 7 rounds (including the best-of-3 final) for the top 32 (64 for the junior tournament) rated players. Each participant who completes his or her way in the knock-out tournament, continues to play for the 3rd place in the base tournament (keeping the points scored). The base tournament will be run on the McMahon system with two groups:
